Mary Alice Laforet
Mary has been a resident of the Greater New Orleans area her entire life, and currently resides with her husband in the special and unique neighborhood of Faubourg St. John near City Park. In her lifetime, she has resided in many of our area’s architecturally diverse neighborhoods, including Old Metairie, Uptown, Marigny and Treme, and loves learning about and conveying to others her interest in the architectural and functional nuances of homes built over the course of centuries, not decades.
After navigating a sale by owner of her home in the University area, Mary decided to become licensed in 2006, and acquired her broker’s license in 2011. Mary enjoys taking continuing education courses to keep abreast of new developments in real estate and has also earned numerous certifications, including AHWD, EPro, SRS, SFR and ultimately, the GRI designation.
Mary is also a commercial real estate paralegal and Louisiana licensed Notary Public, having enjoyed a long and diverse career with many of the City’s top law firms as well as the Louisiana Supreme Court.
A graduate of Tulane University, Mary has recently earned an additional Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Construction Management from LSU School of Engineering. This course of study has equipped her with a more complete understanding of the details comprising the lifecycle and execution of construction contracts and projects, from estimating to design and project management.
